c section incision message?

I'm on my second c section. I went in for my six week check up and the doctor advised me to do a incision message to help with scar tissue and that it would also help my incision/stomach appear flatter. have any of you done this before? my first doctor did not tell me to do this so I was slightly surprised by it. I've watched several youtube videos on it and he suggested doing it twice a day but does anyone have more tips?

I'm a massage therapist and even though it may be easier/more comfortable to do the massage with coconut oil or some other type of lubricant it is more effective when done without any. The type of massage you need to do is called myofascial release technique. It isn't the most comfortable thing but done properly it will not only help with the appearance of the scar but it will help prevent issues with scar tissue build up around the old scar and the new incision sticking everything together. Dang, I wish I’d have known that. I’ve never heard of it. I had twins via c section and wish my stomach was flatter than it is. 😩

I do this with other surgical scars. I’ve noticed a little difference. I suck at remembering to do it so hopefully you’ll see better results. I use coconut oil when I’m massaging just in case that magical stuff helps scars too and I think it’s easier to massage with some sort of lotion.
