Is protein powder safe during pregnancy?

Is anyone drinking protein shakes? Part of me wants to buy protein powder for smoothies but another part of me worries about all the chemicals and stuff I can't pronounce in the powder/mix

I'm drinking protein shakes from Tone It Up. They are organic and vegan, and don't have any iffy ingredients.  The reason for drinking them is that I had preeclampsia with my first pregnancy and studies show that getting more protein reduces the risk, so it's just a little extra to help get me the protein intake I need.

I do have a protein shake a day but it's It Works protein shakes, not something I can get off the shelf. It's completely natural and I love it!

I am, about once a week. sometimes twice. I'm 20 weeks now & haven't had any problems. I know several people that drink Shakeology too while prego. I was a little nervous at first about the protein but it's been fine.

My dr had me drink protein drinks at the beginning of my pregnancy to help prevent miscarriage when I was getting progesterone shots, find one that doesn't have a lot of sugar and you'll be good 😊

Yes, definitely.  I go for Visalus shakes as they have VERY little added sugar.

My doctor today actually just recommended me to drink 2 protein shakes a day because my baby girl is weighing less then she should. She told me to drink "Ensure." So I'm guessing that it's perfectly healthy and safe.
