Advice as to what this could be? It comes and goes but gets more and more red each time it comes back. Could it be allergies? Or pink eye?

I read that if the eye itself is red than its pink eye, if it's white than its likely a clogged tear duct. My baby has a clogged tear duct. We just get a rag wet with warm water and wipe it from the inside (by the nose) outward to remove any "gunk", and keep it as clean as possible.

Clogged tear duct. My son has this too, massage the tear duct and keep it clean with a wash cloth and warm water. It'll clear up in a day or so

If you breast feed put some of your milk on her eyes and clean it with a pad and your milk. My 9 day old was born with a sticky eye (I know different to your but still same principle) and after 2 days of colostrum it cleared.

Dogged tear duct. Crazy mom over here went to the doc for this. She said. Give 3/4 warm compresses a day starting from corner of eye ( by nose ) to outside . Also yo lightly rub under the eye in the same direction with a little pressure from rye corner to putside. This helped n her eyes are clear. I do this warm compress now at night during every bath.
