Episiotomy compulsory? 2nd time

I had an episiotomy with my first baby now im due in few days and constantly worried about it. Will I undergo this procedure again?😫😫 any experiences 2nd time mommas ?

You can refuse any procedure. Personally I vote never get an episiotomy. I was literally forced into once with my first (they asked, I said no, they cut anyway).. recovery sucked big time and the scar is still sensitive 4 years later. 2nd I refused and the dr respected that, very minimal tear that didn’t even need a stitch at all, easy recovery. 3rd due soon and will refuse again my midwife already knows my stance and won’t even mention it in labor. 😊

I've had one with both of my births...pregnant with my third now. If I wouldn't of gotten them I would've had 4th degree tears...it really just depends. I will probably need another one this time too, I'm just not big enough for baby to fully crown. I ask for local anesthetic for stitching afterwards and it makes a world of difference! Good luck!

My midwife says she would never do that and it's very outdated and unnecessary. Tell your provider no and if they won't listen to you get a different provider.
