Co-Ed baby shower?

Liz • Rainbow due August 22
This will be my first child so my sisters/mom are having a shower in June. I have a big family and grew up on a farm. They want to have it at the farm outside under a tent, most likely a bbq. My husband mentioned having it co-Ed and he would do all the grilling. I've only been to one coed shower which was a bbq also. I just don't want men to think it's lame or feel obligated to go if they don't want to. There wouldn't be typical games and kids would be invited. Anyone have co-Ed ones before? I don't know if it's a good idea and don't want to invite too many people and have it look like I just want lots of gifts!
