Owlet Baby Monitor: Has anyone tried and recommend?

FTM and have been looking into the Owlet Baby Monitor that monitors the baby’s heart rate and oxygen.  It’s $299, not cheap but your baby’s life  I think is worth way more than $299.  Has anyone tried the Monitor? I have seen other brands but have several reviews on the amount of false alarms that occur.

we used it with our 1st baby until she was 15 months old! we are currently due with baby #2 this December and will definitely be using it again! LOVE the product and gave me and my husband comfort at night and I felt like even tho I was up with the baby at night, when it was time for her to sleep, I was able to sleep peacefully knowing that if she were to stop breathing I would be woken up! I recommend it highly!!

My brother's son died from SIDS 6 years ago. Him and his wife had another child since then. They used this with their daughter. It gave them a peace of mind and they were able to actually sleep at night. They told me that this is a MUST! They know and understand that things happen, but this product has given 2 grieving parents piece of mind and that is worth the price. My husband and I definitely plan on using this product.

My daughter had some heart issues so we purchased this. It was the best purchase we have ever made! It gave a false alarm once in over a year. Another time it went off saying low heart rate so I took her to her cardiologist and it turned out she had some fluid around her heart from a virus. As far as being more paranoid about SIDS, I'm not sure why I couldn't sleep if she didn't have the sock on It definitely gave me peace of mind.  I highly recommend it and will be using it for this new baby!

I haven't heard anything bad about it, they just came out with a new model that barley throws off false alarms and honestly idk how it would make people more paranoid if anything I would sleep better knowing that thing would go off if anything was wrong even if a false alarm once in a while it's better to me then sleeping and not knowing if something happened till u woke up or not sleeping at all cuz ur constantly checking on baby. It's the best brand in the market especially now with the owlet sock 2 its a better design and if anything if you hate it you can return it, in my opinion it would give me peace of mind when first coming home from the hospital because I'm a FTM and nervous

We were contemplating it but heard two things. 1) the amount of false alarms 2) how much more paranoid it makes you of SIDS. 
After careful consideration we’ve decided not to do any of those monitors UNLESS our son is born with a health issue that could be life threatening.

We took an infant  CPR class where the woman told usSIDS cant be prevented.  So really it’s a waste of money.  That said, I’m still considering it for my second baby coming soon.  I didn’t want a shower for #2 and I know my mom is chomping at the bit to buy something so I may mention it to her

I like the concept but ended up registering for the cocoon cam so we can have a more traditional video monitor that also has alerts for breathing and whatnot.

Haven't tried only bc I wasn't a fan of having the thing on Babies foot... didn't seem comfortable to me. I used Snuza Hero for my first born and will be using again with my second.

I have not tried but my friend did a few years ago and the amount of times it either went off on its own or fell off from kicking and in turn set the alarm off gave her such bad anxiety after a month she didn’t use it anymore and said that was a big waste of money. I’m such an anxious person to begin with and will probably already be checking baby constantly that I don’t think I should get one.

I used it for my second and I didn't have it for my first. The best baby purchase I ever made. By far. I think everyone should have one. It doesn't replace safe sleep but it gives peace of mind. I couldn't have lived with myself if something preventable ever did happen and I didn't use every resource available to be aware.
