So I had a sonogram about 2 weeks ago for my 21 week scan and about after an hour, the tech and a doctor comes in to tell us that ONE of my baby’s legs is measuring 2MM shorter than the other and that it may be a sign of skeletal dysplasia. He also went on to tell me that I could terminate and just try again. Now, I’m no MD, but I HIGHLY doubt this is the case!!! Do you know what 2MM looks like???? So, I asked if her other limbs were measuring short... No. Did the blood work come back abnormal?...No. Is her head measuring larger or smaller than average... No. So my next question: isn’t there a possibility that MAYBE.... just maybe the ESTIMATED measurements are off? Why the heck would I terminate a pregnancy for 2MM!!??? I was so pissed off. Of course I wrote to the higher-ups and filed a complaint. He was so adamant about me terminating and doing an amniocentesis, although I made it very clear from the beginning neither weren’t a option! Ugh!!
