What colour shall I paint my hallway?

I can't paint above the border because I can't reach and the longest pole won't do it. I hate my stairway it reminds me of a hospital ! also I an going to be replacing the nets

I’d do the bottom portion a medium grey and paint the railing black

I wouldn't go too dark as it will make the space feel smaller. I think a light greige would look really nice (Sherwin Williams Mindful Grey or Repose Grey are both lovely) and then put a colourful piece of art on the wall at the bottom of the stairs :)

my initial thought was a sunset orange, one that's got red tones in it but still orange. idk if that would fit in with the rest but that's what I would do
