Post D & C advice

Ladies I had a d & c two weeks ago. When is it safe to have sex & why? My dr didn't really go over that just set up a post op appt & my husband & I couldn't help ourselves the other day & I'm not sure if that's ok or not. 🤷🏼‍♀️😑 advice please
