Had a Successful VBA2C!!!

Went in to my doctors appt on 10/25 (37wks 3days) and my BP was higher than it ever had been so she recommended that I go to L&D; and be induced that day. I already had an induction scheduled for 10/29 because of GD, hypertension, and the two previous c-sections so I figured it wasn’t a huge deal to get it done a few days earlier especially because I was so miserable. So I left the office went and got some last minute things from Walmart, got a car wash, grabbed some food and went home and updated my husband. We got to the hospital around 4:30pm and I got my room not long after. My BP was still really high when I got there so later that night I was started on IV Mag and given Labetolol.

They started the induction with a foley balloon at around 8 that evening. The balloon dilated me from 1 to 3cm and was removed around 3:30am. They had also started me on low dose pitocin to get the contractions going and they were very minor. I was checked again around 9am and had only made it to 4cm at that time. They turned the pitocin up and my contractions became unbearable but I was able to handle it. At around 1pm I requested an epidural because the pressure in my tailbone literally made me want to die. I got the epidural around 1:10pm and was checked again immediately after and I was at 10 cm 😳. Thats why I couldn’t handle the pressure anymore. I wish they would’ve checked me before the epidural because it was a waste to get it when I was already fully dilated. Anyway, the nurse did a few practice pushes with me to get babies head further down into the birth canal. The doctor came in and we got started. Baby was here in less than 10mins of pushing, a total of 9 pushes.

She was born at 1:48pm and weighed in at 5lbs 6oz and 17 inches long. 37 weeks 4 days.

(Oh and her growth scan two weeks prior estimated her weight at 5lbs 6oz so it was way off)
