So this guy I like is dating my best friend but now they are having problems

I’ve liked him for 3 years and she has known him for a month and dated him for a week. They are having problems and their relationship is disintegrating quickly. My friends say I should speed it along and swoop in to take him myself. I couldn’t do that to my friend. Idk what to do. Help please?
