How do I tell my kids I’ve miscarried?

I was 8 weeks and just miscarried. Had ultrasound last week and everything was fine except some spotting that I was on bedrest for.   Lost my baby yesterday (its heart was still beating) we are devastated.  I have 3 children who were so excited about another baby.  9,8,3 years old.  How do I tell them I’ve lost the baby?  I’m so worried about the confusion and emotional effects it can really have on them.  Any advice?

firstly very sorry for your loss. All you can do is tell them the truth theres no point making up stories or confusing them, they'll notice a change anyway from an excited environment to maybe a not so excited so all you can do is tell them the truth. I hope your ok x

I'm sorry for your loss. I don't have other kids but I have a niece and nephew who was 7 at the time and we just explained to them that he went to heaven to be with God. Even though he was loved on earth God needed him and will love him even more.

I am not sure about your ages however I stressed about the same last month with my 5 year old. We are Christians so When I told her I just told her that the baby wasn't going to be able to grow in my belly anymore so god had it go to heaven to finish growing and we would see it when we go to heaven. She asked a few questions like would it be a baby or a kid, I told her I wasn't sure but I thought maybe a kid so it can run and play and that we wouldn't know until we get there. She was sad and I told her I was sad too but that we would just have to pray that god would give us another baby someday to have on earth.  There is a book on amazon some ppl recommend to me I think it's called we were going to have a baby but we had an angel instead...? Might look it up. So sorry for your loss:(
