Not necessarily. Living in the south growing up, I knew black people who flew the flag. I think it's just people who don't know their history. Some are probably racist, some probably aren't.

I’d say like 90% do. However my dad actually believed for 15 years that the Confederate flag was an honorable representation of our veterans who fought in World War Two. Don’t bother asking how he got to that conclusion, because I truly don’t know. When the debate of racism came up he was shocked to find out that it was not directly related to WW2.

I live in the South. We grew up knowing our history and everything. Even black people wore the flag. No one ever had a problem with it. To us it was just a symbol of the south. Was it at one point a symbol of slavery and racism. Yeah we all knew that. But not anymore and we accepted that and moved on.

Honestly I think people are making a bigger deal about it then it needs to be🤷🏼‍♀️. Yes it was once a symbol of the south (which was pro slavery) but now it honestly is just a symbol of the south and nothing more (at least to the people in Texas). I mean I think if people have a problem with the flag they can not fly it or go to a confederate Park but that’s just me. (People are gonna hate so much. Smh 🤦‍♂️)

I voted other I don’t think it’s the flag per-say more like the excuse that it’s “heritage” and “history”. But if they’re fighting that hard to fly it, the only conclusion I get from that is those people are racist.

I live in Washington State. Some people have a Confederate flag up here. I can't speak for all of them, but the people I have known who have them are mostly non racist highschool guys, or guys in their 20's who use it as a symbol of not being under any authority, mostly government authority. They have it on the back of their old trucks that are covered in mud. It's like saying no one can tell you what to do.
