What is your preferred choice for first delivery?

Ive done one emergency section and one natural with just gas an air. It was absolutely fine, I actually felt empowered and like yeahh I did that afterwards. I would alwayd reccomend having a go first, if you have a bad labour then yes get some more pain relief but I don't understand why that would be the first option.

I had a homebirth last year with my first and will do the same with my second. Labor is hard work and definitely isn’t comfortable, but it’s not unbearable if you research ways to cope and find what works for you BEFORE you go into labor.

Epidural all the way. Why go through the pain if you don't have to? Enduring the pain doesn't make you closer to your baby or make you stronger for having gone through it, it just wears you out and makes the whole process lesser for the pain. I went through some astounding pain before my epidural, and would never recommend a mother purposefully choose pain over medication for no good reason.

Ive had 4 babies and gas and air, hot shower and endone are the best forms of pain relief. Morphine made me nauseous and i felt really out of it unable to push, epiduural ive asked for twice only for them to hit the wrong spot and it cause major migraines and not work so i personally would never recommend one. Ive never tried water injections in back or other forms of pain relief.

I had an epidural with my first but it wore off before I delivered so I felt every part of the delivery, luckily it also meant I was able to be up and moving right away! The epidural got me through the rough part (I was induced for medical reasons) and no one pointed it out when it was done, so I didn’t know until after. I almost want to ask them to purposely turn it off with the next one because it actually worked out well!
