When do you stop praising your child...

... when they go on the toilet.. ss6 always wants praise to pee/poop on the toilet. In my opinion thats a little old.

If its something he needs encouragement with I'd do it his whole life 
My son is 8 and I literally jump for joy when he gets up through the night on his own. He has issues due to dyspraxia. So if he cleans himself up properly he gets praise for that too.

I would praise every time when she first started saying " yay poo poo in the potty yay!!!" And she would always repeate every time she went, When she went all on her own for about a month,  I started to taper off by just saying "yay good job" and later  "ok momma good job" and eventually she stopped asking for praise and it just became normal to her to use the potty. But when we're out in public I always say "good job telling me you had to potty" ☺ she will be 4 in july so I would think 6 is a little old for praise but only if he's been using the potty for a few years now.
