No doc appt until 7 weeks, is that normal?

I called to make my first appointment at my OBs office, and they said that since I had positive home pregnancy tests, they will be scheduling my appt for when I am 7 weeks. Is it normal for a doctors office to not confirm the pregnancy until that far into the first trimester?

Normal, mines at 8 weeks, so end of November!!

Yup! Same for me and they apparently don’t do
blood work at my doc anymore .. just a sono at that 8 week appt to confirm pregnancy.
The wait is going to drive me crazy, 28 days 🤞🏻

Actually not normal! Haha! You're lucky your doc is seeing you that early! My midwives won't see me till 10 weeks. Though they are sending me for dating ultrasound next week and I will be 6 weeks

Mine refused to see me until 6 weeks at least but couldn't schedule me in till almost 8 weeks. I've had two miscarriages, so I'm considered high risk. Nope still won't see me earlier

In Canada, it’s 12 weeks. Consider yourself lucky. I’m just a nervous wreck over here testing every day just to make sure nothing happens in the ENTIRE FIRST TRIMESTER that I don’t get to see a doc for. 
Sigh...jealous of everyone’s 8 week appointment.
