irregular period

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for about 8 months. My periods are very random. One month I was 5 days late and the next I was 11 days late then the following three months were on time but I was one day early and I just started my period today and it was 3 days late. This is the first month that I have not spotted before my period. Usually I spot about 5-7 days before my period. Worried something is wrong. Has anyone had anything similar. I have not heard of anyone having anythong like this.
