Braxton hicks/early labor after sex?

Im 38w today and had sex , after like 15,20 mins i started feeling pressure over my vaginal area then like 15,20 mins later im having mild period like cramping in my lower back and lower abdomen. These cramps are not too long apart like after 5 mins or so. What can it be? As I have never experienced braxton hicks!

Keep timing them hopefully it’s labor keep us updated. If so I might need to give in and have sex too 🤔

Braxton-Hicks are more like tightening/pressure which is totally normal after sex. Based on what my drs and birthing class said pre-labor contractions feel like period cramps and get longer/closer together/more intense, true labor is when they're 5 mins apart (from the start of one to the start of the next) and are usually so painful you can't talk through them.
Either way though if you're having consistent contractions, more than 4 or 5 in an hour, you should at least call and let your dr know.

My ob told me today when I asked him about the difference between Braxton hicks and early labor. He said they are the same thing. Only one progresses and opens the cervix while the other doesn't. Having BH is totally normal after sex. Just time them and try to change positions, move around a little, eat something and drink some water. If they don't go away after being consistent or get really strong, or you just aren't sure go ahead to labor and delivery.

Same happened to me, I went up and they had said it was Braxton hicks. I've had Braxton hicks for a while now but I never expected them to be consistent (they were a minute apart), but that's all it was. I would monitor them and if they get stronger and more painful, I would get checked.
