Wood vs plastic. Natural vs man made

So my daughter has started teething and I’m very wary of putting plastic in her mouth 😝 or encouraging her to do so.

I’m really fond of the wooden teething rings I’ve been seeing. They’re natural, and hand crafted by artisans (I think it’s important to support small, local, family businesses!)

And a lot of the wooden rattles and teething rings also have some fabric or crocheted aspect to them as well. I don’t remember teething so I’m not sure what would feel better to a funny mouth. My mother INSISTS that I’m taking my “only natural” thing wayyy too far (🤷🏻‍♀️ ) but I want only the best for my daughter. My mom says that plastic is great and it is a new invention that has changed the way we Liv so we don’t HAVE to use wood or metal for everything. But I HATE plastic items and avoid them at all cost because they’re bad for the earth.

Not to mention that wooden/natural items are very pleasing atheistically (not the reason to do it but it doesn’t hurt to like the item you purchase!)

Obviously I will do what I think is best but I’m curious what would you get for your baby and what are your experiences?

Here is your standard plastic teething ring

And this is the teething ring I am considering. (Ignore the baby butter 😂 although it sounds nice as well!)
