will you tell people the baby's name before birth

I've noticed more often that people have been waiting till the birth to announce the baby's name , what's your thoughts on this ? Did you announce it before the birth ?

I’m not telling people because I don’t want to hear their opinions nor debate the name I have chosen with them. Which a surprising number of people try to goad me into.

we told family and friends what we are naming her...but I already think telling one of them was a mistake. We did NOT want to announce on Facebook or to the whole world until she's born. however, his step grandmother made a comment on one of my Facebook pictures that announced her name to the world. I was and still am so mad. I deleted it..but still. When the baby is actually here we may think another name suits her better...and it's our news to announce!

I will tell immediate family although my in laws can never just be happy and always have to put in their two cents. if someone asks I will tell them but I'm not going to post it all over the place

We have told close family a few names we are thinking of but will be waiting until birth to announce baby's name. We have 2 girls names picked out that we are in love with so have decided to wait until baby is born to pick, if it's a girl and we'll if it's a boy we have zero names picked out and can't find any we like.

Were naming our little nugget after my husband’s late father. My MIL, who divorced my husband’s dad years ago, is still not over the divorce even though she remarried. When he passed she was sure she was entitled to his money, made the death and funeral about her, and made sure her sons all knew she was their only parent left and they needed to appease her. Long story short, I don’t think she’ll take it well that the baby will have his name for a middle name. The only people we have told about the baby’s name is my mom and it’s gonna stay that way. I don’t want to hear others opinions because I don’t care. My husband and I love the names and that’s what matters.

With my son we asked people to keep it to themselves and learnt our families are incapable of doing that so learned our lesson 😂

I'm lost on what to name this kid but I don't plan on sharing once I do know. I was talking to my mom and just mentioned a name I liked but couldn't use because my husband hates it and her reaction was so judge-y and frankly irritating that it confirmed my stance. We announced with our first two but for some reason I want to keep this one a surprise. We will tell gender and both of our names begin with M so we will just call it Baby M until it arrives.
