Natural delivery or not?

I really want to do a natural delivery but I might change my mind later on. What have you ladies tried? And what was your experience?  How did you feel after the delivery?  Any advice would be great. This is my first baby.

I think you should be open to the idea of just doing whatever it is so baby can arrive safely. Ive had 4 births, all vaginal. 1st was medicated, 2nd was natural no drugs, 3rd was high as fuck on morphine and 4th was drug free. I wont lie, baby was more alert when i wasnt on pain relief and i felt like superwoman afterwards.... but i think going in with the mindset that youre there to have a baby, youre no less of a mum if u need pain relief

either way you should prepare some coping mechanisms for the pain.  I think some women want a natural birth but take no birthing classes and do no preparations so labor starts and they are shocked to find out how intense it can be... educate yourself as much as possible to be able to make an informed decision on whether you want pain medications or not

I have done all natural and epidural. Epidural: Recovery time was terrible with the epidural bc it hurts ur back terribly bad. Felt great during labor but did slow labor down alot.... Natural i was up walking and felt great immediately after having my baby.  During was hard but labor went so fast it was definitely worth it.

I wanted to do natural my second time around but for me it was just to painful I went in with the plan to try, really really try my hardest and I did and I didn't feel bad about getting the epidural, actualy the reason I got it was the dr wanted to give me pitocin (to help labor along I was stuck at a 4 for so long) and I didn't want pitocin with no epidural! and I actually went from a 4-10 in an hour (without pitocin) and within that hour they were trying to give me the epidural and it wasn't working!!! They had to try 3 times (don't worry not common) but, i think because I was dilating so so fast was the reason for my unmanageable pain, I think had it been a slower pace it may have been doable. Right after the Epi finally kicked in they checked me I was a ten ready to push and no, I didn't feel upset like aw man I couldn't have done it, it was worth it just for the pushing I was in that much pain! Lol all that to say you never know how your labor will go.. and we all have different pain tolerance and experiences! Go for it! Tell the drs your desires, you can do it! But don't feel bad if you end up needing medication either, stay open minded to it all, its an incredible experience giving birth, either way!

I was aiming for a natural Northrop but also kept my options open since I didn’t know what to expect!  I ended up getting the epidural about 16 hours before I gave birth, since I was in early labor at home for 2 days.  I needed some relief to get rest to be able to push!!

I wanted to be completely natural and pain med free. But I had to be induced cause my baby pooed in the womb, I couldn't handle the contractions with pitocin so I got an epidural (saving grace!), then her heart couldn't handle so had to have an emergency c section. Recovery has been surprisingly smooth. I was up walking 16 hrs after surgery, 2 weeks later and doing really well. I just recommend staying open minded to what your OB suggests is best for baby ♡

I wanted to go natural but once I was in labor I was in so much pain I got an epidural. I might try again to go natural this time, I think it was just scary being my first and everything

I went in with the mentality that I would go drug free as long as I could, but I wouldn’t hesitate to ask for the epidural. After about 10 hours of contractions, I got the epidural and loved it. It slowed my labor down (hint: move positions on the bed, including during pushing). However, I didn’t feel any pain and was able to enjoy the experience with my husband. Afterward, my baby latched and nursed within minutes and I was walking to the bathroom very quickly; in fact, I always had sensation of my legs. I got a second degree tear and am glad I didn’t feel the stitches or tear.

Do what’s best for you at the time.
I’m gonna wait and see, start off on paracetamol and gas and air, but if things get too much I’ll opt for pethidine. 
But I will refuse an epidural if offered

i was 17 when i had my daughter and was petrified of the pain and was certain i’d have an epidural but i managed just gas and air for contractions and then nothing for pushing as it made me high and i couldn’t concentrate. This time round i’m hoping to do the same but i know every labor is different so i’m willing to do whatever i feel i need at the time! ☺️
