Obviously you tell them way before you have sex but I think this is something that should be discussed the moment the relationship goes from talking to dating because even if you guys wait to have sex it could determine whether he wants to be with you in the first place. Don't waste either of your time if the std ends up being a deal breaker. He has the right to know what he's getting himself into

I'm pretty sure if you know you have an STD you are legally required to tell the person before having sex. Whether you use a condom or not.

I know an sti is different from a lifelong std. But I dated this guy and he never told me he had anything and we had unprotected sex and I ended up with 2 different stis. I was furious. I could only imagine what it would be like to get a life long std. That being said. I broke up with him and met someone new who wanted to kiss me-i instantly let him know that I was currently taking my meds and that we should wait until we get tested again-he was thankful for me letting him know. It was after all, morally right.
