Squiggly lines on the red dye pregnancy tests

So I took two red dye tests both first response because I took two blue dye tests and the first one was very faint within the 3 mins and then a thin blue line showed and the second was a vvvfffl. So when I took the red dye tests the control lines one both came out squiggly so I took it as they were defective. Has anyone every seen or heard of that? I was supposed to start my period on Halloween but I got very light brown spotting and then pink spotting but only when I wiped and then on the 1st the same thing very light pink only when wiping.
