concerning ultrasound

Charmaine

So I found out I was PREGNANT October 19th labs came in at 103. Last periodwas concerned an artificial period due to taking provera so we dont knoe how far along I am. I had follow up labs performed October 25 and it was 832. Went in for vaginal ultrasound on November 2 when hcg was 3400 that day and we saw nothing no sac at all. Has anyone else experienced this and had a positive outcome? They are suspecting an ectopic, but my levels are rising appropriately, i have had no cramping, bleeding, or vomiting. I know USUALLY you see at least a sac when hcg reaches 1000-2000, but in my case nothing was seen. So I go back monday for a repeat scan to rule out ectopic just hoping this pregnancy is in the right place!

I had an ectopic- my numbers started going down, and then went up dramatically- and they couldn't find anything- anywhere. They assumed it was in my tube based on my numbers- and I had the methotrexate shot. It could still just be too early for you to see anything- keep your chin up.. you'd have some other sign of ectopic, like bleeding, weird hcg levels, pain.

Coming from someone who just went through both.. when I️ had my ectopic in the beginning my numbers weren’t even doubling. They might one time but then only go up a few the next time. My numbers were never as consistent as yours. I️ also was very sick. Abdominal pain and spotting. My doctor caught mine before it was too late and I️ lost a tube. So I️ got the shot. About a month and half later I️ was pregnant again. This time my numbers doubled like they should. I️ got my first scan at 4w3 days but I️ couldn’t find that pic. Here’s mine at 5w6d My hcg when I️ had this done was only 2300.Now I️ say all that to say this.. it may not be ectopic but it also may not be a viable pregnancy. It may be chemical. Hopefully that’s not the case but just be aware of all possibilities. I️ wish you best of luck.

I didn’t think it mattered how high your hcg was just how far along you are? I usually like to wait between 8-12 weeks before going in for an ultrasound. I don’t think you can actually see anything until at least 6 weeks?

Depends how far you are my hgc was 1500 around 3 weeks which was too early to see anything. I'm now 34 weeks.
