Have you ever donated blood/stem cells/marrow?

If not explain why! I just recently donated blood and now I’m wondering why I didn’t start donating as soon as I could.

I have always been anaemic so donation is out of question for me but I am on the organ donor list :)

I am O+, not quite universal, but still highly sought after. So, I donate often when I can. It causes zero harm to me and could save lives.

I’m O negative and donate. I also do the double platelets whenever possible.

I would donate more but they usually scream me out because I get too nervous and my heart rate is too high. It’s sad because I’m nervous I won’t be able to donate and it’s something I see as extremely important but that’s what ends up being my downfall.

I donate blood. Best feeling ever when you get a text from the blood and transplant service saying your donation have been used and at which hospital. I'm on the bone marrow/stem cell register but haven't been a match yet 😊

I'm anemic even with daily iron supplements, so they don't want my blood. Also I've been with guys who have been with other guys, so they wouldn't take my blood anyway. (Despite, y'know, the fact that I don't have any blood borne illnesses...)

I donated for my first time,  loved it.  Our donation centres have like an entire room full of food for after your donation,  I was in heaven 😂 Booked in to donate more blood and to donate plasma,  found out I was pregnant two weeks later.  So now I have to wait before I can donate again.

I have wanted to donate but can’t, I was in a really bad car accident 5 years ago and had to get some cadaver bone put in my arm, they won’t let you donate for at least 7 years and the guy said most the time they still won’t after the 7 years just to be safe.

i used to donate regularly and then for a few reasons wasnt able to continue (low haemoglobin, pneumonia, surgery, international travel, pregnancy...etc) maybe one day i can start again. whenever i went to donate they were so appreciative and i got a free meal after. id encourage anyone to donate at least once especially if they have an O blood type because it is the most needed one. any blood type can recieve a transfusion of O negative blood and this blood type makes up less than 2% of the population. O positive can also be used by any other positive blood type.
