acne help

don't know if this is the right forum to post this on but can anyone tell me what over the counter creams or washes can help get rid of this terrible acne? I drink tons of water every day and wash my face. I'm 22 yrs old and it makes me feel so ugly. I'm going to throw out all my old makeup brushes and sponges because I think maybe that's the reason and clean the new ones more often than I did the old ones. this acne is so frustrating. anything helps thanks
