He was looking for the breast right after birth but was Winning a lot so they took him to the nicu to check his sugars since I’m a diabetic, turned out he was very low in sugar so they had to start an iv with sugar and sodium in it

They also found he was breathing fast so they started a feeding tube instead of the breast till his breathing slowed, one of the doctors ordered a ultrasound to check his heart to see if the blood vessel are all closed and they found that some were still open but could be very normal so they will follow up in 3-4 months but said it’s most likely just need a little more time and is extremely common in premature babies and that’s what the fast breathing can be caused from. Now he is completely stable sugars are up on their own no more iv, breastfeeding so we got our discharge to go home we spent a total of 4 days in nicu.
