Car seats. Do you take your child’s coat off before strapping them in?

Yup, always. It’s unsafe. I don’t even feel comfortable with her wearing overly thick/fleece onesies in the car seat.

If it’s a thick coat then yes. But if it’s so thin that the straps don’t need to be adjusted then I don’t.

My kids have thin fleece coats that we use in the car (they pass the strap test). We put a heavy coat on over top when we get out if we’re going further than right into school or a store.

I always do although I find it super annoying to do every time! But I'd say it's worth it.  If it's a really thin one then I might leave it on but bulky winter coats come off.

What happens if you don't take a coat off? I never heard this before because everyone in my family never took coats off so it's a bit strange to me.
