My partner and I have decided that I stop the birth control patch after almost 5 years of being on it (25yo now) . My Obgyn recommended this due to the high estrogen levels and breast cancer that runs in my family (maternal aunt just had a double mastectomy and other maternal aunt had malignant cysts removes) .

However, we are not at the point where we aren’t 100% ready to have kids ... and unfortunately no other pill methods have worked without terrible side effects.

We both aren’t big fans of condoms, and want to try a natural method of “awareness/cycle and ovulation tracking”. I’m not sure how my cycle will regulate, but wanted to see if anyone had experiences getting off of the patch or other pill methods, and tips to avoid pregnancy.
