Sleep paralysis poem.
So this is my first poem, and it's because I suffer from sleep paralysis often. I know it's not amazing, it's my first time- but criticism of any kind is appreciated.
(This is my drawing by the way.)
My darling- sleep paralysis,
My darling- nightmare.
Teeth as sharp as knives,
Skin as dark as ash,
Body as narrow as bone,
Thin and tall, covered with horror,
My darling, my dear,
My pain ever so near,
You haunt me each night,
Stalking me,
You lock me up,
Chained to this belief that you control me.
Connected to this dismay; as i give myself away,
Each night my dear nightmare, you come into my room,
Each night I give pieces of myself to you,
Making you stronger- you grow as does my terror.
This- this is when my panic sets in, when I see what I couldn't before,
I know I need to wake up from this cruel fantasy,
But who will wake me?
Oh no- not you, my darling demon, you will let me sleep.
Please, just let me sleep.
