Implantation bleeding or Period?!?!

My period is due 11/5 and last night I started having lower back pain/ light cramping and discharge with a very very light brown tinge to it. When I woke up this morning as soon as I went to the bathroom I had some bright red bleeding. It wasn’t overly heavy flow but enough to use a tampon. I assumed it was my period just a few days early. When I went to change my tampon there was only brown spotting on it. So now I’m totally confused! Any thoughts? This is my first month TTC and never thought I would be so confused on when my period starts. Wondering if I’m just over thinking things?
