when to take newborn out in public?

My baby is a week old and was wondering when it would be ok to take her out in public. def nothing like the mall or Wal-Mart of anything like that, but at a restaurant..  we are planning on going to another state to stay for family for thanksgiving she will be around 3 weeks, wondering if that's a good idea?

In the first week my kid was at target twice. 
Week two a couple restaurants, walmart
Week 3, festival, grocery stores, restaurants.
We’ve never stayed home bc baby. And now he’s 7 weeks old, sleeps through vaccuming, cleaning and my tv shows. Honestly keeping them locked away is good for no one- unless they are preemies or more vulnerable than normal. A normal, healthy baby doesnt need to be kept in a bubble. Just be responsible, dont let strangers touch them and keep up with washing your hands. We keep sanitizer in our diaper bag and cars.

We only waited until I felt like a human again (I had a rough recovery and couldn’t walk/sit comfortably for a while). We went to Target and out to eat at 2 weeks.

I waited a month before taking either of my kids out into public areas, however i would sit in my backyard patio or on my front porch and only let immediate close family members visit

We took our kids out on the way home from the hospital, and they were all in church on their first Sunday home. As long as you are keeping baby covered and not letting strangers touch, you can take them out. They’re actually exposed to worse stuff in the hospital and doctor than they would be at a restaurant.
