IMPLANT

Ariel Lena • aspiring writer + model🖤

anything I should know before getting an implant? I've been thinking about it for a while now. I'd be so grateful for sharing your experience!

I don't wanna sound dumb😬I'm a virgin (uh, clearly), so I never tried pills or anything. I know many women develop a love-hate relationship with an implant; what are the main side effects? advantages? (including weight loss/gain, bleeding, etc.) would it affect my sports career in any way?

Don’t. Get literally any other birth control method. I’ve had the implant since June 2016 and for all of 2017 I’ve had extremely irregular bleeding and I’ve been on a continuous 77 day period

I bled every day for 6 months because I was bleeding so much the cramps were excruciating.

The implant can make you have really mad mood swings just watch out for that!

I got mine in August and haven’t stopped bleeding since. Super heavy periods that last forever and I hate it. Don’t get the implant unless you have an endless amount of money to spend on pads and tampons

I had mine for so long and bled for 3 weeks out of every month. Got very depressed I was literally a crazy hormonal bitch 24/7. Got it taken out and within a month everything was back to normal. To say the least it was horrible and I would never recommend it for anyone 😂😩

The most common side effect people experience is irregular bleeding, especially during the first few months. I personally love mine and haven’t had any bad side effects besides mild nausea in the beginning, I never have periods, & don’t have to worry about pregnancy for 3 years lol

Symptoms vary depending on the person. My sister has had it for years, and has had zero issues with it, but one of my friends had it and gained a bunch of weight. Just talk to your doctor about all the potential side effects and keep a watchful eye over your body ❤️
