What do I do with him oh my god *update

My man is going to propose for Christmas. I told him I don't want a super expensive ring because I would rather him save his money or use it on himself, but he refuses. he says "I'm getting you a nice ring! it's my money and I want to spoil you!" and I get that it's his money but I don't want him to spoil me, it's very frustrating. he's on a military salary, so it's not like he's super rich. What can I do about this? *update* I don't mean to sound ungrateful or anything, I just stress out a lot about money, we don't have a whole lot of it
