Have you ever been in a Sensory Deprivation Tank?

Have you ever been in one?
For those of you who don't know what it is, 
It's basically a super salty tank of water you float in and it gives you hallucinations etc. I don't know too much about them myself, that's why I'm making this post.
I'm interested in going in one but wanna hear your experiences first cause I'm kinda scared 🙃

It's like laying in a hot bath. You don't have to close the tank and you don't have to turn off the lights. Though I will say, its best if you do.

I think it would be good to try, for a sensory deprivation experience, youre supposed to be in a completely dark room, with no sound at all, and the salt water is supposed to give you the feeling of weightlessness so you are not using any of your senses. 
If you do that, people’s experiences are all different, I haven’t seen anybody say they’ve hallucinated, as much as it calmed them and let them really think about a lot of things they couldnt before. 
I’ll have to look at what happens while you’re in there, since I wanna do it and haven’t heard of the hallucinations!

This sounds like a form of torture to me.
Like being locked in a coffin but it’s full of water and you’re tripping on acid.
