(My aunt is an obgyn and explained this to me when I started TTC). Once an egg is fertilized it still takes SIX days to travel down and implant itself in your uterine lining. (And that's only if you actually fertilized the first day, you could implant later than that!) After you do implant, it takes 1-2 days for your body to start producing HCG or the pregnancy hormone. So the earliest you could test and maybe get results, and the earliest you'd get symptoms, is day 7-8, but it's more common not to get positive results till day 11/12.

I tested and had a positive at 9dpo. But if you get a negative early it doesn’t mean you are out!
