cramping after sex

hi. me and my husband tried a new position last night (way deeper penetration). after sex, it felt like I was having contractions or really bad cramps. a shooting pain would even go up my stomach to my chest. it lasted about 20-30 minutes. according to glow, I am due for my period today (which did not happen yet). anyone know what caused that?
