How do you know when airlines have sales?

I have a friend who’s flying from Chicago to Iceland for $250 in March, another friend who just flew from Utah to Japan for $120. Whenever I look at flights it’s always outrageously expensive. How in the world do I get notified of these amazing flight sales?

Tuesday is the best day to look at flights because most airlines put out new prices Mondays and try to be more competitive then. Also make sure to clear your cookies. Try to avoid flying on fridays and sundays and the bigger the airport the cheaper the flights

there's no real way to be "notified". if you understand peak seasons and even certain days of the week are less or more expensive. also if there is a large event in the area you are flying into, the prices will increase

There’s an app called hopper which will both monitor and notify you of flight deals. You’ll put a date in, they’ll tell you the current price, if you should book now or wait for it to drop. I️ use it a lot and it’s always on point.

try to fly out mid week and book in advance. that's how my SO always got cheap flights
