fleas?! 😧😭

We have 3 cats and they all have fleas. We are seeing fleas on our bed and blankets. We tried putting this medicine on their necks that we bought at the store but it didn't work. We bathed each one last night in flea shampoo (that was pure hell) then used a flea comb until they wouldn't sit still anymore. They are still itching like crazy. My next step is bagging up everything and washing everything then trying the flea medicine again. Anyone have any tips on how to get rid of them?

The house needs to be treated and your yard or else the problem will keep on no matter what treatment you get for the cats.

My babies had terrible fleas! The fleas laid eggs and they just repopulated and kept attacking the cats and dogs. First you need to rid the house of fleas. Vacuum and clean the sheets. If its really bad you can always fume the house. Then id recommend the oral medication that kills the fleas and wash them as well.

I used to get fleas SO bad at one of my apartments. if one survives, they make a shit load more and they're not the easiest to kill either. this spray was the only stuff I could use to knock out the infestation. relatively safe but follow the directions to a T. I always used advantage on my cat and never had an issue on her fur, but I've also heard it's recommended to alternate every dose.

That happened to us and we got a flea treatment from our vet and they died quick. I then used lavender essential oil mixed with water in a spray bottle and sprayed the inside and outside of our house! It worked amazingly!

Capstar everyday for a month and food grade DE power all over your home, bedding and lawn (wind work when wet),  after a flea bath and daily washing (and or at least drying on high heat) everything possible is what is working for us.

We battled fleas for 2 years trying flea drops and the bombs for the house, all from Wal-Mart and Pet Smart. Nothing fully worked UNTIL we took them to the Banfield  vet located in Pet Smart. We started them on the Comfortis pill which is only a flea preventative. It was our lifesaving miracle!! Unfortunately we did lose our fluffy long haired cat to the EVIL fleas, but our other 3 boys are still flea free and doing great now. Ok so this is what the vet said and what we did: they have to eat first before swallowing the pill, poultry wet food is what the vet recommended. I found a chicken wet food variety pack my cats liked, had them eat it with the pill mixed in. Sometimes I had to wait for them to eat all but a bite or two so I could put the pill in it and feed it to them. Now it will make them vomit a little bit, but as long as it's been an hour or longer after taking the pill then it's ok. After about 6 months or so of them taking their Comfortis the same time each month the fleas were finally completely gone. I'll try to find the video I watched about it before starting them on it to share here. Recently, though, we switched them to Revolution because it's for both flea and heartworm prevention. No vomiting or side effects at all. Just gently push up the fur on the back of the neck and put the drops in their skin around the same date each month. If you go with Banfield, or any local vet, I highly recommend asking about a wellness plan so everything is more affordable for you and your precious furbaby/furbabies.

So you need to flea bomb your house, which means you and your pets need to stay out of the house all day while the bomb goes off. You also need to lay down flea killer powder every morning and vacuum twice a day. The powder only kills the adults, not the eggs; this is why you need to do this for about a month. Another thing we have just tried, which surprisingly worked is to lay a plate down with water and enough dissolved dawn dish soap to make a nice blue color. Put the plate under a heat lamp, near a standing heater, or on top of your heated vents. The fleas should jump in because they are attracted to the heat, and die in the soap water. Keep doing flea treatments once a month on your cats, no more frequently than once a month because it can harm your cats.
