How do you graciously dodge TTC questions?
Out of necessity, we told our immediate family and a handful of my close friends that we are TTC, but have no interest telling everyone we know. I’m terrible at thinking on my feet in those situations and need some good, go-to responses for when people ask when we’re starting our family or when we want to start trying.
One of my friends just announced she’s pregnant and I️ was chatting with her, catching up. She asked “when do y’all want to start trying?” My first reaction is “girrrrrl, we’ve been trying!” I️ have to remind myself 🙅🏼♀️🙅🏼♀️🙅🏼♀️ because we would prefer to keep that private.
When people ask when we want to start our family, I️ always say something like “whenever we are blessed with a child” — easy answer and they usually don’t ask more. But I️t doesn’t work as well for “when do you want to start trying?”
