My husband and I️ conceived my son after 5 years of using no method of birth control. It seemed unusually long, but since we were not “actively trying” we weren’t too concerned. My son is almost 2 now and it’s the same thing. I️ haven’t been able to get pregnant again. My periods are irregular. And it’s a terrible feeling to take negative test after negative test. I️ have friends who conceived the second time around after only a month or two of trying. And they say things like “oh, I️ understand. It was so hard for me too.” I️ don’t think they realize the battle it can truly be when you’ve waited years. On top of it all, I️ deal with major depressive disorder. And sometimes the negative tests make it worse. I️ just needed to vent to a group that I️ felt would understand where I’m coming from.
