using a fan to sleep

I can't sleep without a fan on. I've had the same fan for the past five years and it's my absolute favorite. I took it to college with me and never slept without it on. I even took the damn thing apart to clean it every once in a while. I was THAT committed to this fan. I've never even had a relationship last that long. Well...it bit the dust today. At 8:30 pm. The motor just stopped. It wouldn't turn back on. I took it apart to clean it and it did nothing. RIP my fan. So my mom is the same way with her fans, and she bought me a new one. Which was incredibly sweet of her, but the only one she could find wasn't the same brand (I mean, it is November. No one is really that worried about carrying fans right now.) BUT I HATE the noise the new fan makes. It's a horrible buzzing noise. She ended up gifting me her fan, the one she uses to sleep and took the new one she just bought. It's a different noise than my fan, but it doesn't make that awful buzzing noise. I feel like a crazy person with how specific I am about fans. Is anyone else this way with their fan?
