How did you explain doing IVF to your family/friends/coworkers?

I haven't shared with anyone we are doing IVF in February. In fact most people don't even know we were trying. I have people asking me when will I have children and my job as a hairstylist means clients ask too. How did you explain that you have to do IVF? My husband is the reason why as he has a low sperm count. Which is very hard for him to deal with and I really don't want to tell anyone other than close family. But I know as soon as I say IVF everyone will ask why! I would love any advice thanks!!

Why tell anyone at all? It is no one's business but your own. With people asking when you are going to have children, just smile and tell them that you will when you are ready.

So I was in the same boat except I Work in HR office job so I had to tell my manager back in February I had medical appointmebts and it was time sensitive as you know you have to be there when they want you to. Never told anyone at work and it’s also none of their business. Then one of my direct co-workers we were talking alone once and it somehow came up and I told her she was older and gone through something similar not IVF but trouble conceiving. I also ended up telling my other manager  I ended up having a new one in the spring that I was gonna do IVF and started to cry infront of her I was messing up at work and it was showing I was stressed out. Currently I’m on medical leave only the co worker I had told knows and she found a new job. When I first was trying I told my cousin who’s a doc in the UK bc I wanted to ask her should I do anything get more advice and told my sister in law who’s a pharmacist and she gave me materna. Eventually my brother found out. I end up telling a friend who was ttc and she ended up getting pregnant she had difficulty but no IVF. I only told my best friend back in September when we knew it was gonna happen and another friend. It’s not easy to talk to. My husband ended up telling our friend we work out with she’s older than us and a nutritionist. I can’t stand when people ask I think itsnone of their busienss. I’ve never aasked anyone even before I was trying bc I thought what if they are going. through something you never know. I find it very abnoxious when people say r u pregnant ?? It’s like no fuck off whne I am I’ll tell you. Even if I was why would I say it right away. At the end of the day you tell who you are comfortable with. I also used counselling at work and have a paychatrjsr bc I got depressed anxiety and stressed this basically took over my life as I came obsessed with getting pregnant. Don’t feel pressure you do what your comfortable with. I started using this forum lately bc other people are In the same boat Or similar. Good luck. Just did my FET on 10/30

All you have to do is tell your manager if you work that you’ll have personal medical appointments. Take pto or a few hours of vacation.

I️ work from home and just started my job. Hopefully appointments won’t be so disruptive that I have to give notice.

The only people that know are my husband, my boss and my Mom. My mom recently found out only because I was in the hospital with an ectopic pregnancy and needed her to be with me since my husband was with our son.  She was understanding on why I didn't tell her from the beginning and I honestly wasn't planning on ever telling her, but glad I did. I'm not sharing it with anyone else. I don't want the questions or anyone feeling sorry for me. 
It's up to you if you want to tell people, but just be ready for the questions/comments.  Best of luck to you through your IVF process!

I️ did ivf in July. We did not tell anyone. We had been trying for almost 2 years by the time I️ got pregnant from my first transfer an I️ did mention to a few family members that we “needed help” but I️ did not elaborate.
