Preterm Baby weight gain

My son was preterm. He only weighs 4 lbs. his pediatrician wants him to gain weight. Right now I’m exclusively pumping but my doctor suggested adding in formula to help him gain weight. Any suggestions on good formulas. Any other moms have to do this method?
