tail bone "coccyx" surgery

has anyone had surgery to remove or fix their coccyx? Would you recommend it or no? Are you in more pain or less? I've been suffering for 3 years and have tried everything from meds, injections, yoga, physical therapy and every topical cream. I haven't had any relief except from a medication that I couldn't do anymore because it was making me sick. I'm in a lot of pain, all the time, sitting and standing. I am not a lazy person and hate having to be laying down to be out of pain but this is starting to seriously effect my life. I have been told from the doctors that they don't do it often and that there are some serious things that can happen because it is the spinal cord. Anything someone who has gone through this could give me for their personal experience I'd love to know. Thank you
