Should I take my dog when I move?
Realistically, I won’t need to worry about this for a while, but, you know.
So, I currently am 17 and living with my parents and plan to do so until probably at least a couple years into college. My issue is that when I eventually do move away, should I take my dog?
We have two dogs, one we got as a puppy, and my dog, we got when she was a year and a half old. They’ve been living together for roughly 2 and a half years now and as much as I love my dog and want to take her with me when I go, I don’t want to hurt her in the process. It’s not as if our two dogs necessarily even play together or really interact too much, but they still are family to each other, you know? My parents dog was scared for at least a good day and a half when we took her on a road trip and left our other dog behind with a family member.
It’s not even as if my dog will be alone for a long time, as I plan to get a puppy when I do move out, so she isn’t as lonely as she would be alone. But, my parents dog would be alone.
My dog’s personality is very friendly, playful when it comes to my sisters dog and very sleepy. My parents dog is, well, a bitch and only tends to play with herself and sometimes plays with my dog if that matters. They mostly just both sleep all day.
TDLR; I don’t know if I should take my dog with me when I move because I don’t want her to miss my parent’s dog.
