Pregnancy announcement on Mother's Day?

My husband and I are expecting our second and we're kind of conflicted about how to tell our families. What do you think about announcing on Mother's Day? Like, "you have a new grandbaby on the way, happy Mother's Day!" lol

That's when we are telling my step son and mother in law. I will be just over 14 weeks. We are going to give my mother in law a book called "I love you grandma" and inside will be a picture from the ultrasound.  I'm so excited to not have to watch what I say or hide the fact that I'm pregnant anymore!

If it would have worked out for us to announce to our families on Mother's Day, we would have wrapped a big box up and filled it with pink and blue helium balloons tied to (a weight, obviously, so they don't fly away) the sonogram picture ☺️ Then, give the boxes to our mothers for them to open.

We told our mothers yesterday. It is our first and they were so excited. They each got this for a gift!

That's our plan, I'm 11+1 and my dr called me at 730 tonight to tell me that our baby is a boy so we are actually doing a gender reveal for Mothers day!

I've been thinking of telling my family on Mother's Day as well. My SO already told all of his family, but his family is a lot smaller than mine, and his father is a lot more easygoing. I know my mom will be thrilled, but my dad is going to be less happy and more worried because we aren't married. But, what my family also doesn't know is that we are planning on getting married before the baby is born! So I guess we have a lot of announcing to do... the rest of this year is gonna keep us pretty busy!
