When will you or when did you announce your pregnancy to family?

I will be 6w1day on Thanksgiving and really want to tell our families since all of us will be together, my mom and stepdad and his parents, sister and her husband, his brother and his grandparents. If I wait until Christmas I will have to tell his whole family separate from my parents. Plus I’m just insanely excited lol!

I waited until after a confirmed heartbeat because I didn't want everyone getting all excited until we at least knew it was possibly viable and not a blighted ovum, early loss etc

I announced when I was 4 weeks pregnant. Why? Because I couldn’t contain my excitement

I told my parents and sister at 6 weeks because we live several hours away and that was when we saw them in person 😊 I didn't tell anyone else until after the first appointment at 9 weeks.

We told both our parents, my sister in law and our best friends right away and we waited until 9 weeks to tell our family. We love the support and how everyone is cheerful and involved. When something would go wrong we would have support from the ones we love dearly so that's why decided to tell them. Our public announcement via FB & IG I think we'll make in november or december. I'm now in week 11.

We announced at my son’s 4th birthday party when I was 10 weeks. I wanted to wait until after our first appointment which was at 8 weeks and the birthday party was a good opportunity to have everyone together to tell at once.

I waited till 20 weeks but that was because I had two previous miscarriages.  One at 12 weeks and the last one being earlier at 5 weeks.

I think it’s okay to announce to close family in the beginning. But it scared me to announce to relatives because had I lost the baby I wouldn’t want to explain and hear all the I’m sorrys.

I’m a very private person, let me begin by saying that. My husband and i like to keep our business between the two of us. We waited until 15 weeks to tell any family because we’ve miscarried before and it was hard telling everyone after we’d just announced our pregnancy to them. So much can happen in the first trimester. We didn’t announce on social media until 20 weeks. With the bad experience the first time around we just wanted to get a few doctors appointments in before telling anyone. It’s up to you and how much support you’ll need in the case that something we’re to go wrong. If you’re comfortable telling everyone now, by all means! There’s no good time! It’s all personal preference! Congratulations!
