First midwife appointment and what to expect?

So me and my partner found out this week we are expecting our first baby. I have missed two periods and expect I am roughy 8 weeks....I've taken a sample into my go so they can put it on my records which they have now done and they've booked me in on Monday with the midwife...what happens? I'm from the uk/Yorkshire so anyone from here who have had their first appointment your comments would be massively appreciated 😁

I’m from Scotland so assume it’s roughly the same! They asked me loads of questions about my history, my husbands history and my parents and siblings. Then she took blood and explained what would happen at the next appointment! :)

My doctor did a complete physical exam

She'll ask for yours and dads medical history, including some family medical history to fill in your pregnancy notes which you'll then keep with you and take them to every appointment with your midwife or any other appointments regarding your pregnancy. She'll give you lots of information leaflets and booklets, take some blood and urine sample, probably arrange your 12 week scan and explain what will happen during your next appointment. I can't remember if there's anything else but it's been around 17 weeks since I had my first midwife appointment.

I'm from Yorkshire! They do a little medical history book your scans, check there's no domestic violence and give you your notes. It takes about an hour xx

Thank you so much ladies! Just really nervous and anxious! I just want to rush forward to the scan to check everything is okay! If I'm as far along as I think I should only have a few weeks to wait for the twelve week scan!
