Is it weird to not check in on my daughter when she is with her dad?

I don't really text him to check in on her when she's with him because I trust that she's safe. I've never had any reason to worry so I choose not to bother them by checking in. Is this wrong or weird of me? My mother has criticized it and said it seems like i don't care about my daughter which is far from the truth.

She's not with a stranger she's with her dad. I would find it super annoying honestly but everyone is different i guess.

When I’d spend weekends with my dad my mom never checked up on me. She knew I was in good hands and trusted that if something was wrong my dad would let her know.

If you trust him I don't think it's weird. I don't know your relationship with him, but it might set something off if you check in on his time.

I don't think it's weird if you trust him and know that he's safe. My parents divorced when I was 5. My mom constantly called my dad When we were with him asking how we were and he hated it.

My mom used to call when i was little when i was spending weekends at my dads just to chat but other then that she never felt the need to “check on me.” She knew my dad was a responsible, and capable parent and she never worried about anything. I don’t think it’s wrong that you don’t check on her, i think it’s nice that you give her and her dad uninterrupted time together.
